Physical Therapist, Certified Life Coach, Certified Naam Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapies Practitioner

Denise was born in the San Francisco Bay Area, a California native. She went to University of California at Davis for her undergraduate work in Child Development and Health Sciences. She graduated in 1987 from Mount St Mary’s College in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She has been serving the community in healthcare for over 25 years. As a licensed Physical Therapist, Denise specializes in the whole mind-body approach to holistic health & wellness. She became interested in the field of personal growth, human potential, and spiritual development in 1990 which has also lead her into the fields of Life Coaching and Yoga Therapy. 

Denise has a private Physical Therapy practice and is currently teaching Shakti Naam Yoga in Santa Cruz. Her private Physical Therapy practice specializes in orthopedic manual therapy, which includes a variety of techniques and modalities. She has had post-professional training in a multitude of Neuromusculoskeletal disciplines, using a variety of Manual Therapy techniques including; Maitland Manual Therapy, Craniosacral, Myofascial Release, Myofascial Cupping, Muscle Energy techniques, Soft Tissue Massage, Yoga Therapies and Harmonyum Healing. 

Denise is a Certified Life Coach through the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, and she is certified in Naam Yoga Therapies under the direction of, world renowned Dr. Joseph Michael Levry, a Master Yogi, Universal Kabbalist and founder of Naam Yoga based out of New York and Los Angeles.

Many of these techniques, traditional and alternative trusted methods, are used together to enhance the interrelationship between structure and function in the body thus creating and supporting the overall inherent balance within the body’s ability to heal itself. These techniques along with Wellness Coaching support the mind-body connection to bring the balance and healing environment needed to make lifelong changes in one’s overall well-being and health. 

She is Certified in Naam Yoga Therapies and Harmonyum which are techniques that remove obstacles, clear negative imprints, infuse vitality, and promote youthfulness. She uses sound, breath and movement to ignite the innate healing of mind, body and Spirit that brings harmony to the brain and body’s systems, (e.g. endocrine, nervous, cardiovascular and meridian systems).

When Denise is not working with clients and teaching she enjoys spending her time in Santa Cruz with her beloved partner, her two sons, friends and family, cooking whole-healthy gourmet foods, sailing, riding bikes, hiking, long beach walks, doing yoga, singing and dancing with her tribe and traveling to new places around the globe.
